Who are the right-wing paramilitaries that distribute cocaine? FARC is left-wing, so I'd like to know more about this new right-wing cocaine traffickers (or if this is an error that needs to be corrected).

"A court in Virginia indicted Mauricio Santoyo, a retired Colombian police general, for conspiring to help drug gangs and right-wing paramilitaries distribute cocaine in the United States. General Santoyo, who will fight the charges, is alleged to have passed on intelligence to the traffickers while serving as the head of security for Álvaro Uribe, Colombia’s former president."

It’s definitely not a mistake:

First of all for years the Norte del Valle Cartel, was Colombia’s main cartel, they were clossy associated with Salvatore Mancusso and Carlos Castaño, the country most notorious paramilitary leaders. In fact in several interviews Mr. Mancusso has admitted to have had a link with several drug lords, most notoriously Wilber Varela AKA Jabón, in order to finance his war.

Second of all: The FARC is mostly involved in coca cropping, the trafficking is mostly done by Mexican cartels, ie: Sinaloa.

Third and most important of all: The rebirth of paramilitary forces in Colombia in the eighties, they had been this type of forces in the country all throughout the 20th century, (ie Los Pájaros), was due to drug lords. The infamous Pablo Escobar, the Ochoa and Gacha among others, were the founders of MAS, (death to kidnappers for its acronym in Spanish) the predecessor to the forces later head by Mr. Castaño, Mancuso ETC.

So in conclusion during the last 30 years most of the actual drug trafficking in Colombia has been done by paramilitaries forces or their associates.

SOUNDS TO ME THAT EVERYONE IS LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR OWN INTEREST

"Everyone sees the financial chaos about to be unleashed as well as political implications, and everyone is planting their seeds. There will, however, be no Spring flowering and no Fall bounty, as the World slides into a severe recession - the likes of which we've never seen before."
